Albumul `American Idiot`, din 2004, al grupului Green Day va fi adaptat unui scenariu de musical rock ce va purta acelasi nume.
Chiar daca `nu are sens`, Billie Joe Armstrong este incantat de noul proiect. `Dar tocmai asta imi place. Cand lumea il va vedea, mi se va implini cel mai mare vis`, a precizat solistul Green Day.
Senariul musicalului `American idiot` este scris de Michael Mayer, iar adaptarea va debuta la Teatrul Berkeley Repertory din California pe 4 septembrie.
Echipa care se ocupa de partea creativa nu a dorit sa faca declaratii cu privire la `povestea` musicalului, dar Mayer a afirmat ca piesa va avea trei personaje principale: Jesus of Suburbia, St. Jimmy si Whatshername
